How online HVAC training works at Learning Trade Center of Florida

Learning Trade Center of Florida is an online school for skilled trades. Our programs are built for working adults: you study from your phone, tablet or computer, whenever it fits your schedule. This is how it works.

There are no fixed class times and no commute. You decide when to study, whether that is early in the morning before work or late at night after the kids are asleep, and every lesson is available whenever you log in.

Study at your own pace

• Video lessons you can watch and rewatch as many times as you need.
• Written material and diagrams that follow each topic step by step.
• A quiz at the end of every module, so you know what you have mastered before moving on.
• Your progress is saved automatically, so you can pick up right where you left off.

• HVAC Technician course.
• Safe handling of A2L flammable refrigerants.
• EPA 608 exam preparation.
• Residential Electricity.

When you finish the HVAC Technician, A2L or Residential Electricity course, you receive a digital certificate of completion from Learning Trade Center of Florida. The EPA 608 exam preparation leads to the federal certification described below.

EPA 608 certification

To work on equipment that contains refrigerant, federal law requires EPA Section 608 certification (the EPA). Our exam preparation gets you ready for it. The exam is proctored by AVTI, LLC as an authorized proctor, and once you pass, your certification is issued by an EPA-approved certifying organization.

Your training and your EPA 608 certification prepare you to work as a technician for an HVAC company. If you later decide to run your own business, each state has its own contractor license, which you apply for when you take that step.
